We’ve hit the big time
We're stoked to be working with Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) through a multi-year co-investment to bring BetterFeed to market.
MLA's backing is a vote of confidence in what we're building: an efficiency tool for the majority of Australian livestock that graze pastures, with less nutrients from pasture wasted to the atmosphere as methane.
News of our partnership made headlines across seven of Australian Community Media’s premier ag newspapers, which collectively reach 78 per cent of Australia’s farmers monthly.

Gates open for pilot projects
Exciting news - we are planning pilot projects to trial BetterFeed on commercial farms, and we’re looking for Founding Partners who are interested in participating.
There are currently 10 remaining spots for pilot projects in weaner cattle and lambs, and we will also look to run pilots in beef cattle soon, following the success of our dairy cattle studies conducted last year. Want to learn more?
Our carbon methodology is moving ahead
Our carbon insetting methodology is now moving into the validation phase with SustainCERT! This means that any pilot trials we run from here will be eligible for making carbon claims, which we anticipate verifying and issuing credits for in early 2027.

A new face at Number 8 Bio
Number 8 Bio is gearing up for a big year, and we’re building the team to match. We couldn’t be more excited to bringNick Donnelly on board as our Head of Sales!
Nick brings 10+ years of experience building commercial relationships across high-street retail and agriculture. Most recently, he played a key role in scaling the commercial function at a leading Australian ag-tech water monitoring business, making him a perfect fit for where we’re heading next. Welcome Nick!
What’s happening on farm
Number 8 Bio is proud to announce a new trial of our BetterFeed bolus is now underway in partnership with Meridian Agriculture and Warooka Pastoral Co.
This six-month project will see our bolus trialled by a flock of Merino ewe lambs on Warooka Pastoral Co’s Melville Forest property in Victoria’s Southern Grampians.
Supported by contract research group EpiVets, this trial is also partly funded by the Victorian Government’s On-Farm Emissions Action Plan Pilot, delivered by Agriculture Victoria. Results will be shared upon completion of this trial, which is designed to prove BetterFeed’s potential to cut emissions while enhancing productivity in prime Merino lambs.

Winners are grinners
Two weeks, two awards - the momentum is really building here at Number 8 Bio.
CEO Tom Williams travelled to Hong Kong recently to take part in the 2026 Mills Fabrica DFI Sustainability Innovation Challenge, where Number 8 bio claimed first prize.
As the winner of the event, Number 8 Bio will receive an industry grant, as well the opportunity to collaborate with DFI to scale our solution across its regional beef and dairy supply chains. Thank you to The Mills Fabrica and DFI Retail Group for this honour!
In other exciting news, Number 8 Bio was also just named the 2026 winner of the AusAgritech Climate Catalyst Award!
Recognising agritech solutions delivering real environmental impact in real-world farming systems, it was a privilege to be presented this accolade at the AusAgritech Awards Gala in Brisbane last week, thanks to sponsors AgriPark and Charles Sturt University.
